'Expand Mysuru airport runway for long haul flight ops'

Mysuru: Expansion of Mysuru airport runway is needed to operate long haul flights as well as to boost tourism, trade, commerce, industrial and other economic activities, said Mysuru Airport director Anup J R here.

He was speaking at a panel discussion on Sustainable cities and infrastructure growth, organized by Confederation of Indian Industry(CII), Mysuru unit as a prelude to Excon road show 2023 at a private hotel in the city on Friday.

He said that both infrastructure development and expansion of the runway at Mysuru airport were delayed due to the state's failure to provide land sought by the AAI.

As the state government has decided to develop Mysuru as sister city to Bengaluru, it must provide land to take up the expansion works as better airport connectivity is a must to attract huge investments, he said.
