Cabinet approves Bill to tackle cheating in public exams

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday revealed that his Cabinet had approved a Bill that aims to tackle cheating in public examinations and bribing in the recruitment process.

The Bill is most likely to be tabled in the winter session slated to begin at the Suvarna Vidhana Soudha in Belagavi on December 4.

“Karnataka Public Examination (Measures for Prevention of Corruption and Unfair Means in Recruitment) Bill – 2023 was approved in the Cabinet meeting held yesterday (Thursday) and it will be introduced in the next Assembly session. During the previous BJP government, there were widespread irregularities in many government recruitment examinations including PSI (Police Sub-Inspector), Assistant Professor post, FDA (First Division Assistant) and many more. This deprived job opportunities for lakhs of honest and hardworking candidates,” Siddaramaiah said.
