Intensified crackdown on drug abuse in Kolar
Kolar, NT Bureau: In response to the recent surge in drug-related incidents, including the murder of a 17-year-old boy in Kolar and two political killings, the police department has launched a comprehensive operation to curb drug abuse and apprehend offenders.
The CEN police have taken swift action, arresting five drug abusers from Kolar and Mulbagal who were found behaving erratically in public places under the influence of drugs.
The apprehended individuals, Salman Khan, Nawaz Pasha, Sahil Pasha, Karthik Kumar, and Krishna, were subjected to counseling sessions at SNR Hospital in Kolar and have been booked for their offenses.
Further demonstrating their commitment to eradicating drug abuse, the Malur police conducted a raid on a farm near the railway bridge in Malur, resulting in the arrest of Najish Khan, a resident of Seethanayakanahalli in Malur taluk.
Another suspect, Prashanth, managed to escape the scene, and the police are actively pursuing him. In addition to these arrests, the police authorities are conducting thorough inspections of medical shops to prevent the illegal sale of drugs.
Simultaneously, they are organizing awareness programs in educational institutions and hostels to educate students about the perils of drug abuse and encourage responsible decision-making.
These concerted efforts by the police department reflect a strong commitment to addressing the drug abuse problem in Kolar and ensuring the safety and well-being of the community.
