Bengaluru: A fire broke out on the third floor of a commercial building complex in Kumbarpet on Sunday afternoon, destroying valuables such as toys and electronic appliances belonging to a store in Kalasipalya.

Fortunately, no casualties were reported in the incident. According to the sources, due to the narrow lanes of the area, there was a delay in fire tenders reaching the spot.

Until the tenders arrived, the fire had spread to the sixth floor of the building, sources told News Trail. An eye-witness to the incident, said that the fire was first noticed around 3 pm after which the neighbouring shop keepers alerted the police and the fire department.

However it took more than one hour for the fire extinguishers to arrive at the spot. Later the vehicles ran out of water and had to wait for more fire tenders, he said. Around thirty officials arrived in five fire tenders and doused the fire.
