KSRTC checks over 47,000 buses, finds pilferage cases

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has conducted extensive checks on its services in the state and neighbouring states in October, examining 47,779 buses.

These checks resulted in the detection of 3,501 pilferage cases, penalising 3,553 ticketless passengers, and collecting fines amounting to Rs 5,60,582.

Additionally, Rs. 92,472 in pilferage amounts was identified. The corporation has taken disciplinary action against staff involved in these irregularities. In light of these findings, KSRTC has urged passengers to ensure they have a valid ticket or pass when using the corporation's buses.
