IT raids over tax evasion allegations

Bengaluru: The Income Tax (IT) Department on Tuesday conducted raids at several residences and offices belonging to industrialists at various locations in the city amid tax evasion allegations.

As per sources, the simultaneous raids, which began early in the morning, were conducted at Magadi Road, Audugodi and other locations against the backdrop of complaints in connection with major tax evasions by the industrialists.

The officers verified documents kept at residences, flats and offices and have taken some of the documents for a detailed analysis. Further details are awaited.

A few weeks ago, I-T officials had conducted raids on shops and residences of dry fruit dealers in the city.
