Man gets 20-years for raping a minor

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: A Fast-track Special Court (FTSC) for the protection of children from sexual offences awarded 2-year rigorous imprisonment to a man for raping a minor girl in the city.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Bengaluru North, Saidulu Adavath, on Wednesday said that the accused was arrested by the Rajagopalnagar Police based on a complaint filed by the girl's parents.

"Following an investigation, the accused on Tuesday was presented before the Second FTSC which awarded him 20-years rigorous imprisonment with a fine of Rs 10,000," he said adding that the court also ordered the accused to pay Rs 4 lakh to the survivor through District Legal Services Authority (DLSA).
