
Woman found hanging, dowry harassment alleged

Bengaluru: In yet another suspected case of dowry harassment, a woman was found hanging at her residence in Talaghattapura here. The police identified the deceased as Radha, a homemaker and a native of Ramanagar district.
It was learnt that she was married to a person named Ravi two years ago. However it is also being said that there were indifferences between the couple.
The body was discovered on Wednesday night by a relative of the woman who alerted the jurisdictional police immediately. Following an inspection, the body was sent to a hospital for a postmortem examination.
The woman's parents have accused Ravi and his family of dowry harassment and abetment of suicide. An inquiry has been initiated against Ravi and his family based on a complaint.
However the police said that the exact cause of the death will be known only after they receive the post-mortem report.
