Brace for snarls, Peenya flyover closed
NT Correspondent
Bengaluru: Traffic jams and diversions are to be expected this week in Peenya, where the elevated flyover that connects over 20 districts of Karnataka and other states will be shut for a week starting Saturday, for repair work. The work is taking place between pillar numbers 102 and 103, at the eighth mile near Swathi Petrol Bunk. Due to the heavy flow of traffic on the Bengaluru-Tumakuru Road, the city’s west division traffic police have suggested alternative routes for the motorists for one week.
Kuldeep Kumar R Jain, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic West, told NT “that three out of 10 cables used between pillar numbers 102 and 103 have been damaged. In order to prevent further damage, the cables are being repaired immediately by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).” He added that alternate routes are made for vehicle users.
ALTERNATE ROUTES:
- Vehicles coming from Tumakuru towards the city should travel on the NICE corridor near Madavara and can exit either on Magadi Road, Mysuru Road or Kanakapura Road.
- Vehicles going towards Tumakuru and other northern districts from the city need to turn left at Goragunttepalya’s CMTI junction, continue on the Ring Road towards Sumanahalli, turn right on Magadi Road, travel via NICE Corridor and exit on Tumakuru Road.
