Bengaluru: The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) is implementing pedestrian pathway expansion across six legislative assembly constituencies.

Spearheaded by the jurisdictional OFC cable maintenance offices, the operation focuses on maintaining and removing unauthorised OFC cables.

Following the directive of the regional commissioner, Regional Commissioner Snehal and Joint Commissioner K.R Pallavi guide these activities in Shantinagar, Shivajinagar, C.V. Raman Nagar, Pulikeshinagar, Sarvagnanagar, and Hebbal.

The initiative includes seizing 104 unauthorised trolley vehicles along a 7.85 km stretch, removing encroachments, 52 unauthorised nameplates, 3700 meters of unauthorised OFC cables, and enforcing action on two unauthorised billboards.

To ensure public safety and smooth traffic, the systematic removal of unauthorised OFC cables is underway on pedestrian pathways.

In the upcoming days, legal proceedings will be initiated against the concerned agencies post-unauthorised cable removal.
