Bengaluru: From November 24, a planned technical overhaul is poised to impact online services across 98 cities covered by 5 Eskoms in the state for a three-day duration.

The Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (Bescom) has declared a temporary closure of all online services from 12 noon On November 24 until 11:59 am after three days.

This initiative aims to consolidate the five Eskoms under a unified umbrella through the Restructured Accelerated Power Development and Reforms Program (R-APDRP).

Officials are currently in the process of transferring data from various portals to the new integrated platform, necessitating the suspension of both online and offline services.

Consequently, activities such as electricity bill payments and online applications for new connections will be inaccessible during this period. Customers in BESCOM, Mescom, Gescom, and Hescom regions may face inconveniences due to this disruption.

This temporary setback compounds the ongoing challenges experienced by individuals dealing with power cuts and load shedding, further impacting service availability within the Eskoms' coverage areas.

Normal service operations are expected to resume promptly after the conclusion of the technical maintenance.

In another development, a recent operation conducted by the Lokayukta Police led to the arrest of Bescom's Chief General Manager Nagaraj and driver Muralikrishna on bribery charges.
