DCM D K Shivakumar to unveil B'luru climate action plan
New Delhi: In a move towards a carbon-neutral city, Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), in tandem with World Resources Institute (WRI) will release a comprehensive ‘Climate action and resilience plan’ in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister and Bengaluru Development Minister D K Shivakumar at Freedom Park here on Monday.
A draft of the same, which was released on November 15, prioritised sectors like transportation, solid waste management, air quality, urban planning and disaster management.
The draft also identified urban heat, urban flooding, droughts and air pollution. Other cities like Mumbai and Chennai have a climate action plan in place which is currently being implemented.
