Security guard found dead

Kolar, NT Bureau: A security guard was allegedly hacked to death on Saturday night by unidentified assailants in Minajenahalli of Kolar district.

The deceased was identified by the jurisdictional police as Manjunath, 48, a resident of Minajenahalli. The Mulbagal Rural Police inspected the spot and launched a probe to identify and nab the accused.

It is said that the deceased was attacked with a machete by the accused. The investigation so far has raised several suspicions in the matter.

According to the relatives, Manjunath had a financial dispute with his second wife, Nethra, following which the couple were often found quarrelling. The couple has two children.

The relatives alleged that his second wife was involved in an affair with another person. As Nethra did not turn up even after the death of Manjunath, the relatives accused her of murdering her husband with the help of her paramour.

In another angle, it is also claimed that Manjunath had a grudge with a person named Srinivas, a resident of Bangarpet.

However the police have not said anything on the matter yet and only said that the exact reason for the murder and the accused will soon be revealed. They said that currently, they are interrogating Srinivas in the matter.
