Chikkajala fire: Clothing and footwear items worth lakhs destroyed
Bengaluru, NT Bureau: A fire broke out at a clothing and footwear store late on Monday at Chikkajala on the outskirts of the city. Fortunately no casualties were reported but items worth lakhs reportedly have been destroyed by the fire.
The fire officials and the jurisdictional police suspected that the fire started due to a short circuit in the electricity system of the store. However, the fire brigade rushed to the spot as soon as they were alerted.
Inspection is still underway and the police have registered a case. Investigation is on to ascertain the cause of fire break out. On November 20, a warehouse in Kumbarpet accidentally caught fire and a woman was rescued by the neighbours.
Due to the narrow streets, the fire tenders could not reach the building and the fire spread over to the 3rd and 4th floor of the building and raged on till the next day.
