Station Mahotsav to commemorate history of Mysore Rly Station

Mysuru, NT Bureau: The Station Mahotsav to commemorate the historic significance of the inauguration of the Mysore Railway Station building constructed by the erstwhile princely State of Mysore in 1881, was held at Mysore Railway Station on Friday.

The event was also organized to sensitize railway employees and local people about the founding of the railway system, and heritage assets like railway stations, system equipment, etc.

Speaking after inaugurating the event, Divisional Railway Manager Shilpi Agarwal highlighted the vision of the erstwhile rulers of Mysore Kingdom in establishing the railway system in the late nineteenth century to bring about a qualitative change in the lives of people of the region which had witnessed recurring famines.
