Moily among 5 aspirants for Chikkaballapur Congress ticket

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: Minister Zameer Ahmed Khan, who had been appointed as the observer for the Chikkaballapur Lok Sabha constituency by the Congress, revealed that five leaders had emerged as aspirants for the Congress ticket from the seat.

He revealed that the names of former Chikkaballapur MP M Veerappa Moily, Shivashankar Reddy, Raksha Ramaiah, Venkataramanaiah and Kenchegowda had “come up for discussion.”

The Housing and Minority Welfare Minister made the comments after a meeting on the topic at the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) in Bengaluru on Friday.

Zameer said that he would soon submit a “factual report” on the topic to the party high command. He added that the ticket hopefuls had agreed to abide by the decision of the Congress’ central leadership on the question of who would be given the ticket.

District In-charge Minister Sudhakar, Chikkaballapura MLA Pradeep Eshwar, legislators of the district, former MLAs, block Congress presidents, taluk, gram and zilla panchayat members and others were present in the party meeting that took place earlier.
