Minister disagrees with Infosys mentor
Mysuru, NT Bureau: District minister Dr HC Mahadevappa on Friday disagreed with Infosys mentor N R Narayanamurty'ss statement on freebies and guarantee schemes launched by the state government Speaking to reporters after inaugurating a disabled sports meet here, he said such views are not in conformity with the spirit of the Indian Constitution and are anti-poor.
The state government has implemented the schemes to help the poor besides ensuring universal basic income of upto Rs 60,000 in a year to over 1.5 crore families in Karnataka.
“I would have appreciated it if Narayanamurthy had demanded that the union government condemn the waiver of crores of lakhs of rupees in corporate loans taken by industrialists”, he remarked.
He also expressed optimism tha the Congress will win all five assembly elections adding that the election results will be a trendsetter for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls in 2024.
