Newly married woman found dead, parents allege dowry harassment
Bengaluru, NT Bureau: A newly married woman was found hanging at her residence in Mahadevapura Police Station limits.
The deceased was identified as Anusha, 23, a native of Malavalli in Mandya who was residing with her husband, Praveen, at Singayyanapalya in Bengaluru.
Speaking to News Trail, the police said that the incident came to light on Saturday evening when the mother-in-law got suspicious of Anusha's absence and went into the room to check on her.
The police also said that based on a complaint, they are interrogating Praveen. Anusha and Praveen both hailed from Mandya.
As Praveen had taken up a job at a petrol bunk in Mahadevapura, he was staying in Bengaluru while Anusha was pursuing her studies at her hometown.
Over a year ago, both fell in love. Despite the opposition of her parents, Anusha left her house two months ago to get married to Praveen and settled with him in a rented house in Singayyanapalya.
Praveen's mother lived with them.
