Bengaluru: In a bizarre incident, an on-duty Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) misplaced his service pistol at a restaurant in Chitradurga, while on his way back to the city from Davangere. Kallappa, a PSI at KR Pura Police Station in Bengaluru had been to Davangere in connection with a case.

While he was travelling back to the city, the cop allegedly stopped at a restaurant at a village in Chitradurga, for lunch. It was revealed that he had carried a backpack containing clothes and his service pistol among other stuff.

He said he had placed the bag and on the table where he had his food but later forgot to take it before coming out of the hotel.

After driving for almost seven kilometers, Kallappa realised that he had forgotten his bag at the hotel and rushed back. However, unable to find the bag, Kallappa inquired about it to some of the restaurant staff who stated that they did not see his bag.

Meanwhile two labourers who had been to the same restaurant, allegedly found the bag and took it to their place. Upon searching the bag, the duo were shocked to find a pistol inside it.

Worried, they at once brought the matter to the notice of Holalkere Police. The police issued notices to the two labourers after recording their statements and handed over the recovered pistol to the PSI Kallappa.
