Deve Gowda’s daughter-in-law gets into spat after accident

Mysuru: Former Hassan Zilla Panchayat member and the daughter-in-law of JD(S) patriarch HD Deve Gowda is in the news for all the wrong reasons again as she was captured on camera losing her cool after her car was damaged in a collision with a motorcycle near Mysuru.

Bhavani, who is married to Holenarasipura MLA and Deve Gowda’s son HD Revanna, is heard in the now viral video, hurling profanity at the motorist whom she alleged to be at fault.

In the clip, she also demands Rs 50 lakh from the motorist, adding that her car, apparently a Toyota Hybrid, was worth Rs 1.5 crore.

The man on the motorcycle is said to have been trying to overtake the car when the minor accident took place. People in the video are heard saying that no one sustained major injuries.

Bhavani was in the news in the lead up to May’s Assembly election for publicly declaring that her name had been approved as the candidate of Hassan constituency.

This was a claim that party second-in-command and her brother-in-law HD Kumaraswamy denied. The ticket for the segment later went to HP Swaroop, who won the seat, beating then BJP incumbent Preetham Gowda.
