Bengaluru: A traffic policewoman's body-worn camera was allegedly stolen from a police booth near City Market junction in the city.

The incident took place on November 22 and it was learnt that the officer had kept her body-worn camera inside her handbag and placed the bag inside the police booth cabin.

Witnessing a traffic jam, she went to the junction to clear the vehicle congestion and returned to the cabin in half-an-hour only to find her handbag missing.

It is suspected that her handbag was stolen during her absence from the cabin.

The officer alerted her senior officials regarding the missing camera and based on her complaint, a case has been registered at Upparpet Police Station. Efforts are on to track the camera, police said.
