Retd IAS officer accused of rape

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: The city police on Monday registered an FIR against a retired IAS officer after a woman accused him of raping and impregnating her by spiking her drink.

A complaint was filed at the Tilak Nagar Police Station by a 28-year old woman based on which the police have taken up an investigation against Ramachandra, a retired bureaucrat, sources stated.

The victim belonging to minority community said in the complaint that the accused had laced drinks with drugs before raping her. The woman claimed that she is now in her eighth month of pregnancy.

She further alleged that though she had lodged a complaint earlier, no action was taken against the accused since he is an influential person. Further investigation is on.
