Ramanagara: In a shocking incident, a worker sustained severe injuries in a low-density blast that took place outside a flour mill in Kanakapura taluk of Ramanagara district.

The injured was identified as Noushad Pasha, an employee of the mill belonging to Nangesh Swamy in Kanakapura. According to sources, Pasha had found several explosive materials made up in the form of coconuts at the premises.

The explosion took place on Sunday morning when he, unknowingly, threw it on the ground to break it. However the material exploded injuring Pasha in the process.

It was learnt that the coconut-shaped explosives were made and stored at the mill to kill wild boars that ravaged farmlands in the village.

Previously, a 27-year old man, Sachin, in Ramanagara district suffered severe injuries on his face and hands when a home-made explosive material went off.

It was later revealed that Sachin had made those materials to hunt wild pigs. A case had been registered against him at Sathanur police station under the Arms Act 1959.
