Bengaluru: A day after the BJP leader CP Yogeshwar’s brother-in-law, Mahadevaiah, 62, was found murdered, the police recovered his body from a gorge on Nala Road near Ramapura in Hanur taluk of Chamarajanagar district.
On Tuesday, the body was brought back to the farm house near Vaddaradoddi where the last rites were performed. Meanwhile, the police have intensified their investigation after CCTV footage revealed three persons walking suspiciously near the place where Mahadevaiah’s car was found in Ramapura.
The police suspect that the three men entered the farm house on the night of December 1 making sure that he was alone.
They forced him to open the lockers and took away property documents and cash and kidnapped him in his own SUV. On the way, they stopped at Kollegal and partied at a dhaba in Kollegal and bought bottles of water from a shop on the same road.
They then murdered Mahadevaiah and dumped his body in a gorge amidst a wooded area on Nala Road near Ramapura, it is suspected.
