Bengaluru: The Anekal police probing the hoax threat message, arrested a man from Bihar’s Samastipur district on Wednesday for allegedly sending a threat WhatsApp message to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) office in Karnataka, officials said.
The police have not shared the identity of the accused so far but it is learnt that the accused had updated his name as Ajith, on his social media platform.
During investigation, it was revealed that the accused had befriended Vidyarani of Bengaluru after he met her on a dating app. It was learnt that they were chatting with each other for the last few months.
When Vidyarani's husband, Kiran, learnt about this, he had warned his wife to break contact with her online friend and later smashed her phone in rage when she continued chatting.
According to the police, the accused had plotted to teach a lesson to Kiran and wrote a chilling hoax threat message that an RDX had been placed around the Anekal Police Station in Bengaluru.
The accused had also mentioned Kiran's name and contact number to frame him for the act.
