Telegram job scam: Man, turned into ‘money mule’, lands in soup with cops
Bengaluru, NT Bureau: A man, who looked out for jobs, has got himself compliciting to fraudulent activities which has led him to police custody on Wednesday.
The incident that came to light from Social Activist Dushyant Dubey “St.Broseph” involved ajob opportunity from the instant messaging app Telegram being taken by the aforementioned man.
Liking “videos” from the video-sharing app “Sharechat” was his responsibility. However, it took a turn when the man was told to receive money from “clients” to be deposited to “Employees.”
This caught the attention of the police as money up to Rs. 30 lakh was being sent from an account owner who was under investigation.
The man is now under police custody and is told to pay Rs. 15 lakh to be released.
