
Under 47 lakh houses got water under Jal Jeevan Mission, says Priyank
Belagavi, NT Bureau: Minister for Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Priyank Kharge disclosed that 46.98 lakh houses had received piped water under the Jal Jeevan Mission.
He added that 71.50 lakh rural households had received drinking water in the state. The minister made the comments on the floor of the Council during the winter session at the Suvarna Vidhana Soudha in Belagavi on Friday. He had been answering a question by BJP MLC Keshav Prasad.
Kharge said that there were 101.17 lakh rural households in Karnataka. The State government’s contribution to the scheme stands at Rs 9, 226.09 crore and that of the Centre was Rs 6,918.31 crores.
He added that the Union government was yet to release Rs 764.69 crores as of October for the same scheme.
