Rs 2.9k crore for Swachh Bharat Mission: Byrathi

Belagavi, NT Bureau: Minister for Urban Development and Town Planning Byrathi Suresh revealed that Rs 2,912 crore had been earmarked for the two phases of the Swachh Bharat Mission.

He made the disclosure on the floor of the Assembly during the question and answer session at the Suvarna Vidhana Soudha in Belagavi on Friday.

The minister specified that for the first phase of the Swachh Bharat Mission, Rs 854 crores had been set aside.

Moreover, a larger sum of Rs 2,058 crores was reserved for the second phase of the same mission. Suresh informed that a separate IAS officer had been appointed to urban development agencies in the state in order to see that the objectives of the Swachh Bharat Mission are fulfilled.

“We have released Rs 370 crore for various civic works in all city corporations,” he said.
