Elderly woman sprays acid on cattle to prevent them from entering her property
Bengaluru, NT Bureau: In an instance of cruelty to animals, around 18 cows suffered burn injuries after a 72-year-old woman allegedly threw toilet cleaning acid on a herd of cattle.
The cattle was reportedly grazing near her residence in Guni Agrahara of Nelamangala on the outskirts of Bengaluru.
Based on a complaint filed by the cattle owners with the Soladevanahalli Police, the elderly woman identified as Joseph Grace was questioned by the cops.
However the woman shifted the blame on the cattle owners for letting their animals graze on her property.
"I can’t keep shooing the cattle away every time because I suffer from health problems. I had no other option but to spray acid on them to prevent them from coming here. Cattle owners should ensure that their animals do not enter my property," the woman told the police when they questioned her about the incident.
According to the complainants, the cattle used to graze on the land before the woman built a house and shifted there recently. The police have recorded the statements and are probing the matter.
