Norms violation: Kolar scanning centre sealed

Kolar, NT Bureau: The district administration has ordered the sealing of a scanning centre following irregularities noticed during a routine check in Kolar.

The decision to seal the scanning centre was taken as there were violations of norms under the PC and PNDT act.

A regulatory authority team of experts led by Dr Chandan Kumar and radiologist Dr Ravindra visited the Hope Scanning centre attached to Hope Hospital in Kolar yesterday where they found that a non qualified doctor, Dr Veitly Yashwant and a female nurse were managing the centre though though it was in the name of Dr Deisy Yashwanth.

There were also no proper records kept of the scanning conducted at the centre violating the norms prescribed for running such centres.

Based on their findings the regulatory authority sealed the centre and a mahazar was conducted in the presence of witnesses. A notice was served to the management of the centre.
