Horrifying CCTV footage reveals three-year-old girl crushed by a car

Bengaluru: In a shocking incident, a three-year-old girl was run over by a negligent car driver outside an apartment in Kasavanahalli in the city.

Sources from the police said that the incident had taken place a week ago outside Samruddhi apartment, but was revealed only after the CCTV footage was verified.

The deceased child was identified as Arbina, daughter of Jog Jathar and Anita.

On December 9, the parents of the child noticed her lying injured outside the apartment gate and immediately took her to NIMHANS for treatment.

However she was declared 'brought dead.' Bellandur police registered a case of unnatural death.

The body was shifted to St John’s Hospital for postmortem and doctors found signs of internal bleeding in the head following which they alerted the police.

The jurisdictional police verified the CCTV footage outside the apartment to ascertain the cause of death.

The footage showed two children, including Arbina, outside the apartment gate before a car, a Mahindra XUV-700 was seen exiting the apartment complex and running over Arbina.

The car hit the child first and then the rear wheel ran over her. The child was however seen getting up after the car ran over her and was seen playing with another child for a few seconds before collapsing on the spot, police said.

The police have identified that the accused, Suman C Keshavdas, is a resident of the same apartment.

The Bellandur police, who initially registered the case, transferred it to the Bellandur traffic police station who have issued a notice to the car driver.

They are yet to arrest the person Police told News Trail that the parents had stated that Arbina had fallen from the top of the building without them being aware of the real incident.

Later, the police got suspicious about internal bleeding in the stomach and the chest part of the child and checked the CCTV footage.
