Politics: Ashwath, Ravi peddling misleading video about me, says Siddu

Bengaluru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Sunday came down heavily against some BJP leaders, accusing them of peddling an edited and misleading video about him.
He said that BJP MLA from Malleshwaram CN Ashwath Narayan and Hindutva ideologue CT Ravi, among others had taken a video of him talking about the “failures” of the BS Yediyurappa-led administration and made it look like he was talking about his own State government.
The CM even accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of peddling similar fake news in the past, demanding that he dismiss Narayan and Ravi.
“In a concerning turn of events, certain BJP leaders like Ashwath Narayan, CT Ravi, and others have engaged in spreading misleading information about me. The deceptive tactic involves circulating an edited video that distorts my statements, falsely implying an admission of the Congress's inability to fulfill promises made in 2023,” Siddaramaiah said.
“Contrary to the manipulated narrative, the unaltered video clearly reflects my remarks in the Assembly, holding the BJP accountable for failing to fulfill promises made in their 2018 manifesto, especially the loan waiver promise they had made. I cited the fact that Yediyurappa, in 2009, had stated they didn't have a printing machine to print notes and lacked the funds to waive farm loans,'' he said.
