
Senior officials and judge raise awareness on saving women from domestic violence

Tumakur: It is the responsibility of the family to protect women in the house from all sorts of domestic violence, District Principal and Sessions Judge and Chairman of District Legal Services Authority B Jayanth Kumar said.
Speaking at the launch of a two-day orientation training programme to discuss the role of the concerned departments in protecting women from domestic violence, Jayanth Kumar stated that the Lok Adalat's redressal mechanism has resolved domestic disputes between at least 20 couples this year.
Senior Civil Judge and a member of District Legal Service Authority Nurunnisa explained the importance of coordination between the courts and the investigation officers in preventing domestic violence cases.
Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP), Mariappa highlighted that most women are educated and have at least basic knowledge of legal acts.
"With a fair investigation and judgement, we can instill hope among the victims in domestic violence cases," Mariappa said.
