Bengaluru: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) which is probing recent incidents of hacking in the state, have sought assistance from the public in obtaining information regarding the cases.
Following reports of hacking of multiple exchanges and gaming portals along with the alleged siphoning of cryptocurrencies in the year 2020-2021, the Karnataka government had formed the SIT to investigate those cases a few months ago.
The officials have collected considerable evidence, both technical and documentary in nature, in this regard.
However the SIT has sought information, if any, from those who may be privy to relevant information or evidence in connection with these cases. Sharing a notification on Wednesday, the Karnataka State Police urged the public for cooperation.
"Any person who has relevant information, knowledge or evidence and so desires to share with SIT, may approach the CID Headquarters or may email us at sitcid2023@ksp.gov.in, or may reach out on WhatsApp at 9480800151," the notification read.
