Cab driver turns entrepreneur; launches own ridesharing app

Bengaluru: Bengaluru, India's hub for startups, has recently become the subject of numerous online memes showcasing distinctive events exclusive to the city.

A recent post on X by a user known as The Bengaluru Man highlighted a particularly unique moment when a cab driver introduced his own ride-sharing app to compete with industry giants Uber and Ola.

The user shared the on X (formerly Twitter), stating, "Peak Bengaluru: Mr. Lokesh, my Uber cab driver, informed me that he has launched his own app to compete with Uber and Ola and already has more than 600 drivers on his app. Moreover, today they launched their iOS version for Apple too."

Alongside the announcement, the user shared a pamphlet containing the company's website, customer service number, and email. Since its posting yesterday, the story has garnered over 49,000 views on the platform.

The Bengaluru man acknowledged the possibility, stating, "Wow. Could be the same guy. Even this Lokesh sounded very enterprising. Told this was his idea and company."

Praising the initiative, one user commented, "This is real entrepreneurship. Hope it does well."

Others echoed the sentiment, emphasising that everyone possesses ideas but not everyone takes the initiative to transform them into tangible progress.
