Elderly man falls from fifth floor of an apartment

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: In a shocking incident, an elderly person died after he accidentally fell from the fifth floor of an apartment in Chennammanakere Achukattu Police Station limits on Saturday morning.

The police identified the deceased as Thimmaiah, 75, a resident of Devigarh Apartment in Ittamadu Layout of CK Achukattu.

According to sources, Thimmaiah was suffering from various health issues including Somnambulism, a sleepwalking disorder.

The incident took place around 2:30 am when Thimmaiah's son, Ayyappa Swamy, had been to the temple leaving his wife and daughter at home.

As per the statements, Thimmaiah got up from his bed and started climbing the stairs when he slipped and fell from the balcony.

Following an inspection, the jurisdictional police have registered a case in this regard.
