Cricketer Cariappa alleges harassment by ex-girlfriend

Bengaluru: The famed cricketer, KC Cariappa, has registered a police complaint against his ex-girlfriend for allegedly threatening to ruin his career and of several other consequences here.

A resident of Ramaiah Layout in Nagasandra here, the cricketer, who hails from Kodagu, told the Bagalagunte Police that he had befriended the woman, who also hails from his hometown.

The 29-year-old woman in December 2022, had filed a complaint with the city police alleging that the cricketer had impregnated her, followed by forcibly feeding her abortion pills.

Furthermore, she claimed that Cariappa had promised to marry her but later started avoiding her.

According to the complaint, Cariappa had befriended the woman and fell in love with her.

However he broke up with her after she refused to quit drug and alcohol addiction.

In his statement, Cariappa alleged that the woman has warned his family members of dire consequences and has threatened to commit suicide leaving his name on the death note. Further investigation in the matter is underway.
