
Christmas celebrated in Mysuru with religious fervour
Mysuru, NT Bureau: Christmas, the day Jesus Christ was born, was celebrated by members of the Christian community with religious fervour with the holy mass conducted at various churches in the city on Monday.
The midnight mass from Sunday midnight till Monday morning was held at the famed St. Philomena’s Church which was illuminated to mark the occasion.
Special prayers were also conducted under the leadership of Archbishop Emeritus Bernard Moras, Apostolic Administrator, Diocese of Mysore on the occasion.
A large number of devotees including people from other faiths and tourists congregated at St Philomena's Cathedral to admire the illumination and appreciate the interiors of the heritage structure.
Carol singing was also held from 10.30 pm till 12 midnight.
