Missing UP-based trekker found dead in Savandurga hills

Ramanagara, NT Bureau: A man who was missing for the last four days after he had gone on a trek to Savandurga hills in the district, was found dead after a search operation that lasted about 100 hours.

The deceased was identified as Gagandeep Singh, who hailed from Uttar Pradesh. Last Sunday, Gagandeep Singh had gone on a trek along with a friend.

However Singh went missing and his mobile phone was switched off. The friend returned and approached the Magadi police for help.

The police and forest staff, along with a team of the SDRF, launched a search using drones with thermal imaging cameras and a dog squad. Gagandeep’s body was finally found on Thursday.
