Bengaluru: As 2024 arrive, which is the year of the Lok Sabha elections, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has announced the deadline for rectifications and other claims will be extended to January 12, 2024.

In a meeting headed by Chief Commissioner Tushar Girinath on Saturday, it was agreed that awareness drives and banner installations on every revenue office in the city be instigated.

This deadline is extended, on the view of updating, deleting and printing of voter ID cards.

Over 65,000 graduates, and 11,000 professors have registered for MLC election.

As the elections for the Karnataka Legislative Council is poised for 2024, the Election Department of the BBMP revealed the final voters list, both in the city’s Teachers and Graduates constituency on Saturday.

The final list, which comes a month after the draft electoral roll, sees 66,213 graduates and 11,763 teachers registered as eligible voters.

As the period of objections, claims and other adjustments came to an end, the civic body saw a total of 26,355 increase in applications.

This comes in compliance with an order issued by the Election Commission of India in August 2023.
