Man slits wife's throat for wearing western outfit

Hassan: A man alle gedly stabbed his wife to death for wearing modern outfits in Rampura village of Arasikere taluk in Hassan district.

The victim has been identified as Jyoti, 22, a native of Hubballi, while the accused Jeevan, 25, is a resident of Rampura village.

It has been revealed that the couple fell in love when they were working together in a garment store and got married only six months ago. Jyoti always liked to wear modern clothes and Jeevan was angry about this and quarrelled with her due to suspicion.

On Saturday evening, Jyoti went out wearing a modern outfit even after Jeevan opposed it.

He later took her on a bike to a forest area where he slit her throat with a knife and brutally murdered her. Later, he fled from the place. Efforts are on to nab him, police said.
