NY Celebration: Chaos at Brigade Road

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: Chaos ensued amid the New Year Celebrations in the city on Sunday night after a woman alleged harassment by an unidentified person here.

The incident took place around 8:45 pm at the Brigade Road where a large crowd of revelers had gathered to celebrate the New Year.

According to sources, a young man who had covered his face with a mask allegedly tried to touch the woman inappropriately following which her boyfriend accosted him.

However before the argument could have turned violent, the police intervened and brought the matter under control. Meanwhile, a woman in the crowded area collapsed due to health issues.

The women police officers promptly assisted her providing water and moving her aside. Police have heightened security at multiple celebration venues across the city.

The significant influx of celebrants onto the streets poses a challenge for law enforcement.
