Lalbagh promotes natural flowers, plastic free celebrations

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: On the eve of the new year, Lalbagh witnessed a refreshing initiative to promote the use of natural flowers and discourage plastic ones.

A collaborative effort by the Department of Horticulture, International Flower Auction Board, Flower Growers, and Buyers adorned a section of Lal Bagh with vibrant flowers.

This symbolic exhibition and sale featured various flower varieties, creating a delightful atmosphere for morning walkers.

In a gesture, walkers received a free rose, symbolising support from the farmers and commercial flower growers of the state. The event aimed to raise awareness about the benefits of opting for natural flowers over artificial ones.

Additional Chief Secretary Dr Shalini Rajneesh, Secretary Dr Shamala Iqbal, and Managing Director of Ifab, Shri Vishwanath, actively participated in spreading this important message.

A designated Selfie Point adorned with natural flowers provided a picturesque backdrop, attracting enthusiastic participation from both flower growers and the public.

This highlighted the significance of embracing nature while fostering a sustainable and eco-friendly approach to celebrations.
