B'luru skyline set to stand out with construction of India's tallest tower

Bengaluru: Bengaluru is all set to redefine its skyline with the construction of the nation's tallest observation tower, a confirmation from the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) revealed.

Soaring to a height of 250 meters, the structure aims not only to showcase the city's beauty but also to evolve into a bustling hub of commercial activities.

The decision to erect this structure began last October, following extensive discussions involving Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, and government officials.

Now, the BBMP is tasked with executing this ambitious project and has taken the crucial first step by initiating the preparation of a Detailed Project Report (DPR).

While structural groundwork is yet to commence, the BBMP has advanced discussions on the construction.

The selection of a suitable site, possibly between NGEF areas in Yeshavantpur or Baiyapanahalli, where the Skydeck will stand tall, is under consideration.

Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, renowned for proposing a 190-kilometre mega tunnel road project to alleviate traffic congestion, now unveils ambitious plans for Bengaluru with the "Bengaluru Skydeck," potentially becoming the nation's tallest observation deck.

To ensure a comprehensive report, the BBMP mandates a site inspection alongside DPR preparation, encompassing estimating project costs and the required timeline for completion—vital aspects to be incorporated into the DPR.
