Bengaluru: Sandalwood continues to offer a variety of films, each creating a buzz in its unique way.
The latest contender to grab the spotlight is 'Kerebete,' generating excitement with its first look and motion poster releases.
The film, led by Gowrishankar, has now presented its teaser, successfully capturing the audience's attention.
Emerging from the serene landscapes of Malenadu, 'Kerebete,' meaning 'fish hunting' in literal terms, features Gowrishankar in the lead role, portraying a character deeply immersed in the world of fishing in the lakes of the hill ranges.
Director Rajguru assures audiences of an actionpacked treat, marking Gowrishankar's transition from comedy and satire genres to the intense realm of 'Kerebete.'
Making his directorial debut, Rajguru brings to the table the experience gained while working with director Pavan Wadeyar.
Set against the backdrop of rural charm, the film has already aroused curiosity with its teaser release at the edge of the Mallathahalli lake on Wednesday.
Special guests at the teaser launch event included actor Daali Dhananjay and director Dinkar Toogudeepa. The event also witnessed the presence of director Pavan Wadeyar, Guru Deshpande, and Jadesh Hampi, among others.
The teaser launch had a unique touch as the lead actors, donned in traditional fishing attire, crossed the lake, carrying traditional fishing equipment like the ‘Kooni’ and fishing nets.
Debutant actress Bindu became the center of attention by carrying a bunch of fish around the lakebed and presenting it to the guests Dhananjaya, Dinakar, and Pavan Wadeyar.
Addressing the teaser release, Dhananjay remarked, "Our village films never fail.
'Kerebete' is also a village film, with fish hunting unfamiliar to many. This film will introduce the village tale to everyone and showcase our cultural heritage."
Director Rajguru expressed his joy, stating, "I am a boy from Malenadu. I grew up watching 'Kerebete' and dreaming of making a film about it. It's now a reality."
Lead actor Gowrishankar conveyed, "This film was made with dedication. Everyone should watch it. A film needs more than just a theatrical release; it requires promotion."
The cast includes Sampath, Gopal Deshpande, and Harini. Produced by Jay Shankar Patel and Gowrishankar, the film is currently in post-production, promising audiences a visual treat from Shivamogga and Sagar.
Fans eagerly await the full-length film's release, anticipating when 'Kerebete' will hit the big screen.
