Was promised Cabinet role after LS polls, says Rayareddy

Koppal, NT Bureau: Congress MLA from Yelburga in Koppal district Basavaraja Rayareddy, who was recently appointed as the economic advisor to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Monday revealed that he was originally promised a ministerial berth after the Lok Sabha elections.

“I was asked to become the economic advisor. I said I was willing to accept but I asked if it doesn’t come with any power, what would I do with it? Then the chief minister came into the room and said accept the position on my word. Since he gave an assurance, I accepted the post. The order was supposed to be issued on November 3,” Siddaramaiah told a gathering.
