BMRCL gets new full-time MD

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation limited (BMRCL) on Thursday received a full time Managing Director (MD) in Maheshwar Rao, replacing Anjum Parvez who has been relieved of additional charge.

Anjum has been serving as the Additional Chief Secretary (CS) of the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj (RDPR) since last year. Parvez had been the BMRCL MD since 2021.

Rao, a 1995 batch was previously the commissioner of Industrial development and has been heading Industries and commerce at the Department of Industries in the State government since 2011.

The experienced bureaucrat has also served as Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate in Dakshina Kannada and Mandya districts.

He was also the Additional Secretary and Financial adviser to the Department of Space in Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).

He holds a Masters’ degree in economics from the University of Hyderabad.
