Farmers mega rally at New Delhi on February 13
Mysuru, NT Bureau: South India Kisan Morcha convener Kurubur Shanthakumar who is state president of Sugarcane Growers Association, on Thursday said the All India Farmers Federation mega rally organized by Samyuktha Kisan Morcha will be held on February 13 at New Delhi, to prevail upon the Centre to fulfil various demands of farmers including minimum support price for all farm products, loan waiver and other demands.
Addressing a press conference here, he condemned Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not fulfilling the demands of farmers after withdrawal of the three controversial farm laws.
During the rally, the PM will be urged to introduce minimum support price guarantee act to ensure fair and decent prices for all farm products as recommended by the MS Swaminathan Commission.
The PM will also be requested to quit the World Trade Organization(WTO) agreement as the pact is detrimental to the interests of farmers.
The Union government will also be urged to increase the Fair remunerative price for sugarcane to Rs 4000 per tonne from Rs 3000, to provide Rs 10,000 pension for farmers above 60, to bring all crops under crop insurance cover and ask banks to implement crop loan waiver to bail farmers out from a crisis.
