In a special operation, CCB unearth Rs 1.66 crore in drug haul

Bengaluru: Following a 10-day operation, the CCB officials unearthed drugs worth Rs 1.66 crore and arrested seven drug peddlers including two foreign nationals from different locations in the city, The City Police Commissioner said on Friday.

Five separate cases have been registered in connection with the investigation, the Bengaluru top cop B Dayananda said.

The police seized 18.5 kg marijuana (ganja), 203 grams of Methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA), 410 ecstasy pills, seven mobile phones, two bikes, and a car from the accused.

The police commissioner said that the arrests made were part of Bengaluru Police’s effort to make the city drugfree.

"A Nigerian Citizen arrested in the case was booked in 2020 at the Siddapura Police Station. A case has been registered against him at the Byappanahalli Police Station after seizing 50 grams of MDMA drugs. The RT Nagar Police arrested one accused and seized 50 grams of MDMA crystals. Another accused foreign national was arrested from Chikkajala. The police seized 100 grams of MDMA crystals and 156 ecstasy pills. Four drug peddlers were arrested from Girinagar and Madiwala police station limits and around 18 kg marijuana was seized from them," Dayananda said.
