Armed assailants attack man at a cafe

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: In a shocking incident, a middle-aged man working as a manager at a cafe was allegedly attacked by two unidentified miscreants for unknown reasons.

The incident had taken place on Tuesday at a Lassi cafe in Kengeri Police Station limits.

According to the FIR, the victim, Irshad Ahmed, a resident of Kengeri, and four workers were present at the cafe when two unidentified assailants armed with a metal rod and stone barged into the cafe and attacked the victim.

It was revealed that the cafe belonged to the victim's sister, Nazia Khanum, who was at a school when the incident occurred.

Siraj, one of the workers at the cafe called Nazia and told her that Irshad was being attacked. The incident was however captured by a CCTV camera that had been installed inside the cafe. Irshad, who suffered severe head injuries, was shifted to a private hospital where he is undergoing treatment.

A case has been registered under IPC sections 427 (Mischief causing damage), 506 (Criminal Intimidation), 504 (Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), 307 (Attempt to murder), and 324 (Voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means).

The police are on the lookout for the accused.
